WWYS #5: For Peeps Sake

Welcome to  What Will You Stamp #5! Can you believe it? We are on our fifth week of this challenge already-I'm excited! In case you don't know what WWYS is yet...It's an amazing new challenge blog that features a stamp set every week on Mondays! We all have one of those stamp sets lying around that  we absolutely love but for some reason don't know what to do with, or, feel uninspired. That's where WWYS comes in! Check out the blog and see what our design team has created for the stamp set that is blocking your creative flow. Don't forget to check out the cards submitted by the challenge players as well because they are amazing! If you have great ideas about some of featured stamp sets please play along and submit your designs! We can't wait to see  What Will You Stamp!

Easter is almost here so this week we have been challenged to use Stampin' Ups! For Peeps Sake stamp set. Here's my card.

It's a flip card. I love flip cards!

Here's what the inside looks like...

I used Daffodil Delight to cut out the larger piece. Then I used an oval punch to cut out the sentiment that was stamped on Whisper White and used a sponge dauber to add a little Pool Party to the edges.

Here's a close up of the three little chicks on the front "flip." I used Crushed Curry on the chicks and Daffodil Delight to sponge the background. Then I used Gorgeous Grunge and Marina Mist to speckle the background a little more.

I really had fun doing the bottom part of this card. I used framelits to make the word bubble that is sponged in Daffodil Delight. Then I used my paper snips to cut some Pool Party grass. I had extra DSP so I cut some of the cute little eggs out and stuck them in the grass.

Here's the For Peeps Sake stamp set. I can't wait to see what the rest of the design team has come up with this week. If you have this set please join us! We would love to see your ideas too!

I'm signing off for now but I hope you'll join us this week at What Will You Stamp?

If you want to recreate this card, or, order any of the supplies I use please check out the supply list below. Please let me know if you have any questions!

WWYS #4: Big Day

Hello Everybody! It's our fourth week of WWYS this week and it really feels like time is just flying by! We're showcasing another one of Stampin' Ups! Sale-a-Bration stamp sets this week. If you love this stamp set you can get it for FREE with any $50 purchase during March. Here's my card...

I used the Birthday Bash DSP as my background and I just love how fancy it is with those gold balloons! I used the candle stamp to create my own strip of DSP on Bermuda Bay and mounted my sentiment on that.

I embossed the sentiment multiple times in white because I really wanted it to pop out.  Then I snipped the "Happy" out four times and made a cascade of "happy" above the Happy Birthday. The small pieces are mounted with glue dots and the big Happy Birthday is popped out using dimensionals.

I hope you liked my card this week! Don't forget to check out everyone else's card on the WWYS blog.  And, this week I dare ya! Enter your own card into our challenge! We would love to see your ideas on how to use this stamp set! In case you don't have it yet here's what the set looks like.

See you all next week and don't forget that we are always wondering...

WWYS #3: By the Tide

Welcome back to What Will You Stamp?! This weeks' stamp set is By the Tide!

This set is one of my absolute favorites and it was tough to decide what to make because I wanted to use ALL of the stamps! But, I exercised a little self control and settled on the fish stamp. Here's my card...

I hand colored the fish with Stampin' Write markers after embossing it in black. I really wanted it to stand out so my background is simple. Here's a helpful tip: Whenever you color over an embossed image, carefully wipe it with a kleenex or a paper towel afterwards. Some of the ink from your markers will sit, unabsorbed, on top of the embossing and it may smear (and ruin your card, oh no!) if you don't clean it up right away. I've ruined a beautiful card this way before so I hope I can prevent you from repeating my mistakes!

To color in this fish I used Crushed Curry, Garden Green, Pool Party and Island Indigo Stampin' Write Markers. I love to color! Check out the WWYS image below-here's what the whole By the Tide set looks like. Now you can see why I had such a hard time choosing which stamp to use with so many terrific options.

And now I'm anxiously awaiting your fabulous cards! I can't wait to see which stamps you will decide to use from this set so please hurry up and post them at WWYS #3.

Until then, I will be wondering...  What Will You Stamp?

If you want to check out the supplies I used this week please check out the handy revolving list below.
Have a great week everybody!

A Happy Thing

Earlier this week I had a customer ask me to make a couple cards for her. She wanted one for her dad's 88th birthday with a bird theme. She also wants an elegant card for her daughter's 14th birthday using eggplant color. Here's her dad's birthday card...

Here's a closeup of the little bird. I think this bird is one of my favorite stamps.

I hope you liked my card today! Have an amazing Saturday! Don't forget to come back on Monday to check out another week of What Will You Stamp (WWYS)!

Butterfly Basics

Here's a quick little card I made last night using Butterfly Basics. I didn't have a lot of time but wanted to tuck something sweet in with a little package I was sending someone. It's a 3"x3" card and was quick and easy!

WWYS #2: Best Day Ever

Hey Everybody! Welcome back to Week 2 of What Will You Stamp? This week the featured stamp set is the Best Day Ever set from Stampin' Up! Here's my card... it was made completely left-handed because I just had wrist surgery and am in a cast. I have to thank my friend Amanda for helping me fussy cut the flowers. I did try to do it on my own but it didn't pass my own QC so I was grateful for her help.

I used the Oval framelits to cut out a window in the front of my card so that the sentiment that is stamped on the inside is nicely framed.

Here's what the whole Best Day Ever stamp set looks like. It has two great sentiments and some other elements that you can play around with to get lots of different looks.

Jaxsonville Starz Blog Hop & MOJO387: Time to Celebrate!

Welcome to the March Jaxsonville Starz Blog Hop. This month we are sharing fun Easter and spring projects to inspire you!

You may just be starting the blog hop, or, you may have come from Lee Conrey's fabulous blog. You can follow the full blog hop lineup below (bottom of my post) to move along from blog to blog so that you can see all of our new projects.

When I found out we would be doing Easter or spring cards this month I knew I wanted to do a spring card. At first I was thinking, "April showers bring May flowers...," and then it hit me! Worms!! April showers bring WORMS! The ground gets wet and the worms start surfacing and before you know it they are everywhere. So this month I decided to use one of Stampin' Ups! hostess sets called Time to Celebrate. It's got this great worm and a few other incredible images as well. Here's my card.

I wanted to give you a front view as well so that you could clearly see the layout. I was excited that I was able to combine my card with this weeks Mojo Monday card sketch.

Here's this week's Mojo Monday sketch and it's  fun one!

This card was so fun to make! Part of the reason it was so fun was because I got to use the new designer vellum from Stampin' Ups! Sale-a-Bration. With any $50 purchase during March you can get this vellum (12 sheets of 6 designs)... for FREE! I picked this design because it reminded me a little bit of rain drops and I wanted that as my "spring showers" background.

I love this kooky little worm with his glasses all askew. I can't help but grin when I look at him. I've been wanting to color him like this for quite some time now and I am so glad to have had the chance because I love the color combo (even if it isn't very wormy). I used Tempting Turquoise, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizazz and Melon Mambo Stampin' Write Markers.

Well, that's all for today folks! I hope you enjoyed my card and thanks for stopping by. I look forward to seeing you all again for another Jaxsonville Starz Blog Hop next month! Happy Stamping!

PS: If you didn't see my post earlier this week...I had exciting news! I was selected as part of the design team for a new weekly blog challenge called What Will You Stamp? It focuses on one stamp set a week and you not only get to see a lot of great ideas on how to use the stamp set from our design team, but, you also get to participate by submitting your own card designs! Please join me every Monday for some WWYS fun!

MOJO387

Time to Celebrate!
Well, I hope this doesn't seem too strange... I've got two back-to-back posts today and they both feature the same card.... I created this second post because as I linked my blog to the Mojo Monday blog page it automatically uploaded my link without a picture of my card (Entry #150). I wasn't sure if that meant that I needed to enter again, or not, so I created this separate post in order to be able to enter Mojo Monday with an actual card picture this time! I apologize for any confusion. The post above has all the details about this card. Sorry for any confusion!

WWYS #1: Balloon Bash

Welcome to the first week of What Will You Stamp?! Woohoo! I'm so excited! This week's stamp set is Stampin' Ups! Balloon Bash and here's the card I made with it.

I started out with the Irresistibly Yours Specialty Paper (Free with $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration! Also, FREE if you win my give away this week!) and used a sponge dauber to color in the stripes. Next I used the confetti/sprinkle stamp from the Balloon Bash stamp set to add some detail to my background. I was feeling the gold with this card and I love the combo of gold with Bermuda Bay and Night of Navy. I decided to make it a shaker card for a little extra birthday fun!

Here is what the whole Balloon Bash stamp set looks like. I used the confetti/sprinkle stamp and the HB stamps. I love the Balloons in this set as well!

Once again, WELCOME to the first week of WWYS, I hope you liked my card!

Our design team wanted to do something a little extra special this week... We are all offering a GIVE-AWAY! So make sure you go check the whole team out and enter every give-away!
